Alexander D., Maj. USAF, Ret.

 

Major Alexander D. Schramm, aged 62, on Sunday, August 6, 2017.  Son of the late Jack Henry Schramm and Jean Marie Schramm (née Brennan). Alex is survived by his beloved wife of 34 years, Jeanette Tyann Hollenbeck, his son Mark A. Schramm of Pittsburgh, PA, his daughter Madison V. Schramm and son-in-law Dani K. Nedal of Boston, MA, his brother Jack Henry Schramm and family of Ruckersville, VA, his brother Henry Otto Schramm and family of Philadelphia, PA, and faithful companion, his dog Elvis. Major Schramm was a graduate of the United States Air Force Academy, Class of 1977. He received his M.S. in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Colorado in 1985. He served in the Air Force as a Telecommunications Engineer in a number of foreign and domestic posts, including at the Defense Communications Agency, the Pentagon and at NATO South headquarters. After retiring from the Air Force, Major Schramm accepted a position at Union Switch and Signal in Pittsburgh where he served as a Director of Signal Engineering. He retired from Union Switch in 2015. He loved dogs, live music, photography, movies, and Pittsburgh. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc.
