Obituary of Regina Kuhn

REGINA (SALLY) JACOB KUHN Peacefully on Sunday, November 6, 2016, aged 94. She was predeceased by her parents, Frederick M. Jacob, MD and Regina Frauenheim Jacob; her siblings, Murray Jacob, W. Lindsay Jacob, MD, Edward F. Jacob and Sr. Fredericka Jacob, and her beloved husband of over 50 years, James Craighead Kuhn, Jr. She is survived by her children Alisoun Kuhn, James Craighead Kuhn, III, Andrew Charles Kuhn, David Rittenhouse Kuhn, and Thomas Murray Kuhn, ten grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Sally graduated from the Winchester Thurston School and Bryn Mawr College, married and became a mother during the heat of World War II. She worked as a volunteer for many years for the Bryn Mawr-Vassar Bookstore and Carnegie Museum. A faithful Catholic, she was an active member of The Pittsburgh Oratory of St. Philip Neri, where she was a Minister of the Eucharist, Lector and attended mass daily. She was an avid reader, a gentle, kind and devoted wife and mother and an exemplary grandma. She was known and loved by all for her grace, charm and bright warmth and wit. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, (www.mccabebrothers.com), 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside, on Wednesday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at The Pittsburgh Oratory on Thursday at 10 am. Those wishing to attend, please meet at church.
