Obituary of Deborah Ann Pyles
Pyles
Deborah Ann Chilton
Deborah passed away in her Moon Township home on Thursday, November 24, 2016 at age 63. She was the beloved wife of David Mark Pyles; loving mother of Erin Corbett (Daniel); doting Nana of Bayliss and Patton Corbett.
Deborah was born in El Paso, TX and lived in Alabama, California, Kentucky, Oklahoma, Tennessee, New York, England, and Germany (to name a few locations). She served in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman on active duty from 1979–1985.
She began her career as a mental health technician (recreational therapy) for a local psychiatric hospital and retired as an Internal Healthcare Compliance Audit Manager at United Parcel Service (UPS) in Louisville, KY. She was a dedicated worker, and every job she held was one in which she took great pride. She recently retired and moved to the Pittsburgh area in July of this year to spend more time with her grandchildren.
She was a devoted animal lover and rescued countless stray pets over the years. Her compassion for human and animal welfare was unparalleled. She was a best friend to countless people, including her husband of 33 years, David, her only daughter, Erin, and partner in crime of 37 years, Cathy.
Two of her greatest treasures were her grandchildren. Bayliss loved cooking and gardening with her Nana, and Patton was moved to dance and giggle whenever Nana sang “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Chilton and June Patton (an Irish immigrant).
A celebration of Deborah’s life will be held on Saturday, December 3 at 1:00 PM at the Recreation Hall at Raccoon Creek State Park in Hookstown, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Deborah’s memory to the Western PA Humane Society. Arrangements by McCabe Bros., Inc. www.mccabebrothers.com
