Obituary of Caroline O'Nan

O’Nan Caroline Of Regent Square, formerly of Highland Park on Sunday, November 27, 2016, age 82. Beloved daughter of the late John W. and Mary McElheny O’Nan; sister of Lee O’Nan; aunt of John O’Nan and Stewart O’Nan (Trudy). A native of Highland Park, she was a graduate of Winchester Thurston and Allegheny College. For three decades she taught elementary school in Wilkinsburg. An avid skier and gardener, she loved holidays and choosing the exact right gift. Residents of Regent Square were familiar with her from her daily walks. She volunteered at the Holmes Residence in Wilkinsburg, with the Swissvale Meals-On-Wheels, and with BOLD, helping the visually impaired enjoy skiing. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Saturday from 3 to 5 pm with remarks at 4:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Meal-On-Wheels or a charity of your choice.
