The loss of a loved one is difficult. We can draw comfort from the bible at at 1 corinthians 15:26 where god promises to bring the last enemy death to nothing. The bible tells us of many promises such as this. Please take care and very sorry to have learned of your loss.

I was so sorry to hear of Phil's passing. He was a beloved friend of my family's for almost 35 years. My husband, Bob, was best man at his wedding to Janice. He would come over for dinner almost once a week in the old days after golf or tennis and regail us with stories. The laughter would last for hours. I can't picture him without a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eye. He knew everyone and everyone he knew loved him. Our children thought of him almost as the grandfather they didn't have.

We drifted apart in recent years but I will always think so fondly of him. My life was richer for knowing him. I know you will miss him terribly but what a blessing for us all that he was in the world.

Dear Family of Phil Joyce,

I have just learned of the great loss your family has suffered from the death of your dad, Phil.

I was surprised to learn of Phil’s death, as I have played tennis and golf with Phil for almost 30 years.

I will never forget his happy joyful personality, his great jokes, and his wonderful outgoing attitude.

I also knew Phil during some of his difficult moments. His strength, courage, and positive attitude during those times will stay with me forever. It was a real learning moment for me personally to watch Phil during those troubled times. He was the best personal example of a strong, solid, and kind man that I have known.

He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

I celebrate the hand of God on Phil for 80 years . . . He was a light to our world. We all loved him as a passionate Irishmam and a "well souled" child of God.

I am now in San Diego until Thursday so I am sad not not to be able to attend Phil's funeral. I am prayerful for Phil and all you, his dear ones.

May it be God's joy and delight to raise him up!!
