My Dear Shearer Cousins, I am so sad to hear of your Mother's passing. She and your Dad have such a special, joyful place in my heart, and I think of them often. Aunt Dorothy is one of the strongest women I've ever known, with a great sense of humor and an unflappable outlook on life. Her heart is as big as the sky and everyone was welcome in it.
She taught me how to drive "stick on the column" on some narrow, twisty mountain roads when you lived in Drums, PA, back in 68. I was a bit unnerved, to say the least, but her quiet confidence and no-nonsense approach soon made me confident, too, and we both made it back alive!
And, of course, Uncle Jack was such a huge inspiration to me and my career. I miss our deep talks and his ready, unbridled, infectious laughter. And I miss sipping single malt scotch with Aunt Dorothy!
So many memories and so much love. I know her love shines on in each of you, and we are all the better for having known her! Sorry I can't be there, but please know I am thinking of you all, wishing you the best, and sending you tons of love and hugs.
Love, Cousin Michael Bailey
