Mary Margaret Murphy

On Thursday, March 22, 2018. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on October 24, 1928. Mother of Maureen Aldrin of Orlando, Florida, sons Daniel of Sarasota, Florida, James and Patrick (Michelle) of Columbus, Ohio.  Preceded in death by parents Edwin Murphy and Ann (Christy) Murphy, sisters Mildred Marchek, Elizabeth McDermott, Catherine Sapienza and Eleanor DiTonto, husband James Frank, son Michael, and son in law Chuck Aldrin. Grandmother of Katie, Christie, Ryan, Jessica, Joe, Megan, Mark, Dan, Molly and Sam. Great Grandmother of Jack, Wyatt, Colton, Bennett, Roya, and Kara. Survived by sisters Jeanne McGrath, Patricia Ketterer, and Eileen Delewski, brother James Murphy, sister in law Mary Lou Laird, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and best friend of 82 years Patricia McMinn. Mary Margaret loved God and her family more than anything. Graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Pittsburgh and employee of Mine Safety Company where she was introduced to her husband of 58 years. They moved to Worthington, Ohio in 1973. Mary Margaret enjoyed gardening, sewing, volunteering at Birthright and Riverside Hospital, reading, Pittsburgh Steelers and OSU football. She had a wonderful smile, quick wit and a kind disposition. The family would like to thank the staff at Sunrise of Dublin, Comfort Keepers, and Cap City Hospice. Special thanks to Judy Layton and Kadi Pratt for their exceptional care.  Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Monday, April 2, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church, Shadyside, on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10 am, followed by interment at Good Shepherd Cemetery in Monroeville, PA.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Sacred Heart Church.
