Daniel Hibbs Ph.D.
On Monday, May 21, 2018. Beloved brother of Ellen Haynes and David Morrow; son of the late Gilbert and Ruth (Hibbs) Morrow; also survived by former spouse Mary Kay Morrow. Dr. Daniel Hibbs Morrow served as a program evaluator and grants manager, with a specialization in education, analyzing assessment data to inform classroom instruction. He was deeply committed to improving educational standards and was an advocate for social justice. He co-founded and served as Executive Director for HEArt — Human Equity through Art — the nation’s premiere journal of art and literature dedicated to fighting discrimination and promoting social justice, from 1996-2002. He served as the journal’s online Fiction Editor from 2013-2016. Mr. Morrow was a collector of art and literature and a passionate gardener. He was a profoundly sensitive and intelligent writer, with a signature voice and legacy. A memorial service will be held later in the summer to celebrate Daniel’s unique and unflinching contributions to the world, his work and his belief in art as a vehicle for social change.
