Dorothy (Walsh) Hays

Of Point Breeze, on Sunday, June 10, 2018. Devoted wife of Howard R. Hays for many years; mother of twins, Kevin (deceased) and Judy; also Maureen (Jim); daughter of the late Coleman and Margaret Walsh of County Galway; preceded in death by sister, Margaret Moran; proud grandmother of Megan Mannering, Daniel Capp and Julie Daw; great-grandmother of Ezekiel Hays Mannering. Dorothy was an active member in St. Bede Church. She was president of the St. Bede Guild for many years. She had a strong faith in God and her country. Dorothy attended Holy Rosary High School and was a very active member of the Pittsburgh Zoo Docents, as her husband served as zoo director. Dorothy was also a member of the Gaelic Arts Society. Friends received at  McCABE BROS. INC. FUNERAL HOME, 6214 Walnut St., Shadyside on Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m., where funeral will commence on Wednesday at 10 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Bede Church at 11 a.m.
