I am sad that I can no longer have delightful conversations with Bob at the Chamber Music concerts, as well as in the physics department. He was a valued and gentle colleague.

Dear Carolyn: We were sorry to hear of the passing of Bob. I will never forget how in love he was with the violin, rosin and friction. He asked me to help him to X-ray his rosin and he used my calorimeter to study his rosin samples. What a devotee to classical music! His legacy lives on in our hearts. Best regards, Stephanie
