We the Beiber's were so sorry to hear of Glenn's passing. Prayers and love to you all during this difficult time
I have had the honor of working with Glenn over the last 25 years in several capacities when I was the director of the Pennsylvania Fire and Emergency Services Institute, my time at PEMA when he was Public Safety Director for Allegheny County and at FEMA when he took over as director of Disaster Response and I was an agency deputy administrator. It was also my pleasure to have worked closely with him during the Corbett Administration, Governors Transition when we were assisting the Governor-Elect in reviewing PEMA, identifying reforms and making recommendations for a new Director. Glenn was that man who needed to be Director and was an outstanding administrator and advocate who set the stage for improved preparedness, increased agency funding and capabilities and helped to break the ground on the new PEMA Headquarters which opened a little over 18 months ago. He served his community, his county, his state and his nation with dedication to mission, not politics, his dedication to doing what was right, not expedient and his support to those of us in the disaster and Homeland Security community who will never forget his brotherhood and support. Rest easy Glenn and our love and condolences to his family in what I hope will be a true celebration of his life and his gifts.

Glen was a fraternity brother, a fellow ambulance colleague and an overall great friend. He was someone who really made a difference in all he did and with those he touched, Many good memories, He will be missed.
Glenn: You were truly a visionary and a leader. I remember meeting you in years I can say I can't believe that was a while ago like high school. You became a mentor. You encouraged education and my dreams. I made a better life thanks to you but Cathy, a duo. Thank You! You two made me a better person. It was a humbling honor not only to know Glenn from Monroeville but he was a true leader in Pittsburgh EMS & Public Safety. I was able to make milestones in my life because of his great fostering, whether it was Fire, Rescue, Hazmat, Law, Medic, LODD’s service or my degrees it was because of his advice. You always were a gracious, strong, kind, and a diligent leader. Glenn Rest in Peace.…My Deepest Sympathy, Prayers, Love and Thoughts are with all of you. A true loss to many of us who knew the real man. You will be missed.
Director Cannon you were an important part of helping to rebuild the foundation of PEMA with your knowledge. While we didnt always see eye to eye...we agreed to disagree and you would take time to listen. I could make you speechless at times! Rest In Peace Sir! I pray your family finds peace and joy in all their memories! We shall handle it from here!
It was my sincere pleasure to work with and for Glenn since 1997. He was such an innovator and professional. But, most of all, He Cared! For that, he will always be remembered. Phil Barker
