I knew Bernie through the Legion of Mary, St. Louis parish. Would talk with him every now and then and catch up on his life, his grand children, his dogs, teaching CCD and talking about our faith journeys. He was a pillar you could always rely on. Always think of him from time to time, I don't find it unusual that he would pass on the Feast Day of Our Lady of Lourdes! There was a grotto out his way at a trailer park. Our Lady of Lourdes message to Bernadette was "Not in this world but in the next." Bernie sure deserved to be blessed in the next! I am sure Our Lady, Mary met him outside the gate and took him by the hand, leading him home.+++
