Condolences
To the Fuchs Family,
I am sorry for your loss. Bobby (always Bammer to me) was a great guys - truly one of the favorite people in my life!
Bammer was my first football coach, in 5th grade for St. Bede back in 1968. I'll never forget high ankle cleats which he wore at practice, and how he would run right at us, and at the last moment veer off to the side.
He had a great attitude about life...and great personal warmth and presence. In fact, I would say he was 'a master of life', as he was such a fine example of how to live.
I saw him less over the years...on trips to Pittsburgh, but each time - a Central football game, recent years at St. Bede and my mother's funeral (in fact he was a distant relative - 2nd cousin? - to my Mom) - it was just so nice to meet up and reconnect with him.
Thanks Bammer, and Rest in Peace.
John Reiling
Bob was already working at Frick Park Mkt in 1950 when I was coming in for a soda at age 13.
Then of course he, working with Lou, continued to help my folks with groceries through the years.
I still appreciate both Bob and Ron coming to my parents memorial services.
So lotsa good memories.
Wade Biggs
Kitty and family,
Though words can do little to comfort you, may the thoughts and prayers of all those who love you help support you at this difficult time.
A proud classmate of Central Catholic Class of 51 and member of the Golden Vikings.
Sending condolences,

Kim, Bob and Mrs. Fuchs, even before we moved to Dewey we felt like your neighbors. When we were little we lived at the edge of Frick Park and Point Breeze was a big part of our universe - St. Bede's, our piano teacher Miss MacGregor, and of course the Frick Park Market. Dad taught Kari, Pete and me to ride our bikes on those cinder paths and it was a huge milestone when everyone could make it all the way to the Market, get a cold pop and watch the bocci players on sunny summer days.
Thinking of your family, remembering those neighborhoods with fondness and wishing you comfort in your loss.

On behalf of my parents, Jack and Connie Kunz, and my brothers and sisters, Mary Anne, John, Chris, Claire,Father Tom and Joan, and for my husband Mike and his family, we all wish to express our heartfelt sympathy to your family.
Bob was an amazing man who always had a warm, hearty greeting for each of us. Boston may have had Cheers, but we in Point Breeze were blessed to have Bob/Bammer and Ron at Frick Park Market...and yes they knew everyone by name...even as we those Slush-puppy,candy and ice cream buying kids from all those years ago have morphed into 50 & 60 something’s with a few more pounds and gray hair.
God bless you Bob and May eternal light shine upon you good and faithful servant.
Gretchen Kunz Short and family

Dear Kitty and family,
Our heartfelt condolences at the shocking news of the passing of dear Bob. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. Tom and Marge Pikunas and children.
Through family and school, Bammer learned life lessons well.
He practiced what he was taught.
If you were asking for assistance, he would start to help you before you finished your sentence.
Live in peace Bob,
Lou Fratangelo
To the family of Ronald and Carol Fuchs.
I extend my deepest sympathy to you and your family on the loss of your brother.

To the Fuchs family, my mother, sister and I would like to extend our condolences. Lou, Mary, Ron and Bob were an integral part of our family’s life. I don’t remember the day that I became old enough for Bob to refer to me as “brother” but I always enjoyed that he addressed me with that moniker. Like many here FPM served a number of families with similar stories regarding the Fuchs family. My mother trusted Bob implicitly with his mastery of meat. I was always happy to see Bob, made me feel good. The Armstrongs raise a glass in toast to an old dear friend.
My condolences to your family. Thinking of you. Jim Smithhammer
Fond memories from Ken and our sympathy to your family at this sad time. Ken & Cindy Smithhammer
Ah, Bobby, the unflinching. He looked you right in the eye, even over the phone. You always knew where he stood, and where you stood with him. He neither minced words nor withheld affection. Think vigor. Think groundedness. Think love at the ready. That was Bammer. RIP.
Kim, Bob and Mrs Fuchs, I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Mr Fuchs. Growing up with your family, I remember him as kind and smiley. I was fortunate to see him a few times in the last couple of years when he and Mrs Fuchs would come to our farmers market. My thoughts are with you. I hope you can find comfort in the fact that he had a long amazing life filled with love. Ariana Say
Mr Fuchs touched a lot of people’s lives he certainly touched mine. Whenever you were in his presence he always had a big smile and a hug for you. Last time I saw him was at the 50 year anniversary of EHS Undefeated Football Team 67-68. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to see him there and talk with him. He had such a positive minded attitude I just loved being around him growing up. RIP Mr Fuchs.
As a small child, I was only familiar with Reynolds Market. Somewhat like a child in Tibet tapping his foot to a Mac Miller song, I knew nothing of Lou, Bammer or Ronnie. Then once visiting my grandparents Julia and Pete Byrne, they wondered if I’d mind going over to the Market and asking Bammer or Ronnie for some items. I thought of it as an adventure. From that day on, anytime I visited my grandparents, I’d ask if they needed anything from the store. It probably was the warm atmosphere that surrounded that little neighborhood market. Everyone knew one another, and everyone was always smiling. My favorite story is once in the late 1960’s my grandma gave me a quarter at lunch time. I’d eat lunch at my grandparents everyday during the school. I ran over to Frick Park Market and bought 5 Reese Cups. Bammer asked me why I was buying so many. I don’t believe I told him the truth. On the way back to St. Bede’s I wolfed down all 5. Got terribly ill, got sent home by the nuns and got walloped at home for doing something stupid and missing out on school. It’s funny, on how a half a century later, that and many other memories of Bammer and Ronnie seem like yesterday. With a very heavy heart, I extend my deepest sympathy to the entire Fuch’s Family. And I want to say Thanks for being a major part of my early world.
Mrs. Fuchs, Bob and Kim,
The McDonough Family, (Edea & Leo's kids) would like to pass on our heartfelt condolences to you family.
Our parents loved "the Fuchs' as family. Their long friendship included many visits to our house, dinners, outings and trips.
After our parents' passing, I always looked forward to seeing Mr. Fuchs (old habits are hard to break) at the Mel Douglass Golf Outing for my annual "How you doin brother" and hug.
He will be missed by all...
Sincerely,
Dudley & Debbie
Our family extends our deepest sympathy to the entire Fuchs clan. I have such great memories of the time we spent at Aunt Mary and Uncle Lou's when we were all young. Bob and Ronnie at the market, and just the way Bob made everyone laugh. My thoughts and prayers to Kitty, Kim, and Bob, as well as to Ron and his family. May God bless you all.
We are next door neighbors of the Fuchs family in Edgewood. Two and a half years ago the Central Catholic football team was updating their helmets. Rather than discarding a helmet, Bob Fuchs gave one to our nine month old grandson. It will remain in our family as a symbol of our kind and generous neighbor. God bless you, Bob and Kitty!
The Degelmans
Our language lacks the precision to share the ideal words, please know that the entire Fuchs family are in my thoughts and prayers - the loss of Bammer is a loss of a good man and he will be missed yet not forgotten.

Dear Fuchs Family, our sincerest condolences on the passing of Bammer. My three sons attended Central Catholic over the course of 9 years and I got to know Bob through my many years as a marching band parent and president of its parents association. He always had a kind word of how much our organization meant to football and made a personal donation to band every year. The twinkle in Bob's eye for all things CCHS Vikings and everyone who was apart of that family was glorious and his memory and spirit will truly live on forever.
Thanks for your friendship Coach Fuchs!
Live, Jesus, in our hearts! Forever!

Dear Aunt Kitty, Cuz and Kim......My deepest sympathies. Uncle Bob was the salt of the earth!! I have so many memories flowing through my heart these last couple of days. His passion for life will live on and I know he will be standing on the sidelines of CC. I will be keeping all of you and your children in my thoughts and prayers.
Dear Fuchs family, my sincerest condolences on the passing of Bammer. I am so grateful to have spoken to him a couple of days before his death. He wanted to say goodbye to "all his guys". He has been a mentor and friend since my teenage days working at FPM. His dedication to Point Breeze and Central sports programs has no match. A truly great man and Point Breeze icon. We love and miss you Bam.
Buddy Simon
Kim, Terry, Robbie and family please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. I was so saddened to hear of your father’s passing. He was such a great man.

Kitty, Bob and Kim, please accept my deepest sympathies on the passing of your husband and father. The world knew no better man and we are all the better for having known him. My memories of working in Frick Park Market are some of the best of my life. Like a lot of “Breezers”, I viewed “Bammer” as a second father, always there, in good times and bad. He had a tremendous influence on me. His voice will always be part of me as will the love he showed me. Thank you for sharing him with everyone.
The Hurley Family
…’so much thanks to Bammer for his big heart, and for giving so many opportunities to so many kids… opportunities which are easily seen now as life-changing! He did not simply give to individuals. He created “community”! We are blessed to have had him in our lives. Thank you, Bammer! God bless you.
To the Fuchs family, your husband and father was a great man. I only knew shortly, but I will miss him. He had a voice of an angel. He was a pleasure to take care of at Fresenius Penn hills.
My condolences.

My condolences to the Fuchs family.
Bob (and Ron) will always be integral to cherished memories of my childhood. I frequently found my way to Frick Park Market to buy candy and slushes. I learned how to count money there! The Fuchs were a wonderful team and I'm blessed to have them as part of the the fabric of my youth.
Now here were a pair of shoes too big to ever fill ... I loved Bobbie and Ronnie and Frick Park Market and will be forever grateful for his hand-holding when I bought the Market. May God hold his family in the Palm of His Hands during this Time of loss.

. Dear Kitty and the Fuchs Family,
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Bob was a Legend who cared passionately about his family and all of the people of our Community. He was always there for everyone as a great listener with a very positive and uplifting message. Bob and his brother Ronnie and his Mom and Dad, Mary and Lou made their Frick Park Market a second home for everyone. They made us feel so very welcome every time we walked through their door. They treated us like family.
Bob made a difference in the lives of all of the people he touched. Thank you Kitty and your Family for sharing this extraordinary man with all of us. May God Bless.

My deepest sympathy to The Fuchs Family. Frick Park Market was an important part of my life growing up. I attended Sterrett School K-7 and made a pit stop at the store every day. My family lived in Point Breeze and did all of their grocery shopping there. When I bought a home in Point Breeze, my family also spent a lot of time (and money) there. Seeing Bob and Ron was always special because they knew you and frequently knew your order too. I miss the good old days. Rest In Peace Bob.

Bammer you’re the best! Your contribution to society is immeasurable! Just one example was your commitment to the St. Bede football program. Your investment of time and talent over so many years made such a huge impact on the lives of so many people. Your mentorship was responsible for steering so many young men into their life’s work who in turn mentored so many more young people! There is no way to measure your contribution to society! The world has lost a true champion! Rest In Peace Friend.
Your friends Pat and Sandy Mahon.
