Obituary of Robert G. Freker

Robert G. Freker Of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Sunday January 24, 2021 age 90. Beloved husband of June A. Freker, whom he married on November 5, 1960; father of Darlene Bartos (Tom) and David Freker (Carrie); and brother of Jean Severns. He is preceded in death by his infant son, Michael Freker and his brother, Bill Freker. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He then became a mechanical engineer and worked for several engineering firms in Pittsburgh. He belonged to the Liedertafel Club and was a member of the Garfield VFW. He was an usher for St. Raphael Church for many years. He was also very active and played many sports. He was an avid pickleball, racquet ball, and volleyball player, and a swimmer. Friends will be received at McCabe Bros. Funeral Home, 5300 Penn Avenue, Bloomfield, 15224 from 1-3 and 5-7 on Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Parish, St. Raphael Church at 10 AM on Thursday. Those wishing to attend may gather at the church. Interment to follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
