Obituary of Kate Brosnan
Kate “Kathleen” (Conroy) Brosnan, 93, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 1, 2021. Kate was born in Galway County, Ireland, on May 6, 1927, a daughter of the late Dudley and Nora Conroy and the sister of the late Mary Faherty (the late Patrick). Kate immigrated to the United States in the early 1950s and became a US citizen in 1958. On May 16, 1955, she married John Brosnan, who preceded her in death in 2000. She is now reunited with her husband and her three children who preceded her in death: John (survived by Alice) 2017, David 2005 and Kathleen 2006. Kate will be dearly missed by her four surviving children, Thomas, Michael (Patti) and James Brosnan, and Mary Knipe; and eleven grandchildren, James, Sean, Kevin (Maria) and Brian Brosnan, Angela Pittek, Christopher Schaber, Candice and Lacey Bathe, Hannah, Luke and Samuel Knipe. Kate is survived by three great-grandchildren, Arya, Isabella and Dominick. Also, surviving is her niece Mary Flaherty (Dara) in Ireland.
Kate was simple, humble, happy and more than content to be a homemaker and a dedicated and loving wife, mother and grandmother. All who met Kate were struck by her kind and loving nature and adored her Irish smiling eyes and still-strong brogue. Many referred to her as “an angel on earth.”
