Obituary of Regina Caldwell
Regina Caldwell, of Lawrenceville (formerly of Bloomfield), age 72, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, February 12, 2021.
The daughter of the late Edward R. Laffey and Alice R. Kredell Laffey, Regina was born in Lawrenceville.
Regina was married to Robert Caldwell, who preceded her in death.
Regina lived her entire life in Pittsburgh. She worked as a Registered Nurse for UPMC and was an avid Steeler fan. She loved being with her family, especially her two grandsons who called her ‘Meem’.
Regina is survived by two loving daughters: Brean Vaske and husband, Dr. Brian Vaske of Wheeling, WV and Katie Caldwell and husband, Martin Morin of Frederick, MD; grandsons : Miles E. Vaske and Elliot E. Morin; siblings Theresa Laffey and husband, Walt Barry of Medina, OH, Monica Radkowski and husband, Louis of St. Marys, PA, Regis Laffey and wife, Pam of Franklin Park, PA, Thomas (Fr. Matthew) Laffey,O.S.B. of State College, PA, Edward Laffey of Pittsburgh, PA, Roseann Parker and husband, Dom of Pittsburgh, PA, Alice Leone and husband, Peter of Thornburg, PA, Meg Vaughan and husband, Michael of Pittsburgh, PA, Helen Kondrich and husband, Keith of Pittsburgh, PA, Brendan Laffey and wife, Jackie of Pittsburgh, PA. Regina is also survived by her aunt, Anne Kredell and husband, Dan Cieslowski of Catonsville, MD and uncle, Raymond Kredell and wife, Winnie of Glenshaw. She was loved by numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Besides her parents and husband, Regina was preceded in death by her brother Matthew R. Laffey.
Family and friends will be received Sunday from 2-5pm at McCabe Brothers Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Maria Goretti Parish, Immaculate Conception Church, Bloomfield, on Monday at 11am with Fr. Matthew Laffey, O.S.B. presiding. Please meet directly at the church. Interment will be private.
Due to current health concerns, all CDC guidelines will be followed and masks, social distancing and occupancy limits must be observed.
