Obituary of Kathleen E. Downey

Kathleen E. Downey Passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 09, 2021 after a long struggle with cancer. She was the loving aunt of Brendan and Natali of Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, and Clare, Liam, and Adam of Washington, DC, and their cousin, Laila Shadid of Boston, MA. Sister of Brian and his wife Linda McKay of Mechanicsburg and Kevin and his wife Michele Jolin of Washington. Preceded in death by her parents, Edmond J. and Mary E. Wallace Downey. Loved and missed by many friends and relatives. Friends and family will be received at McCabe Brothers Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in St. Mary Magdalene Parish, St. Bede Church, 509 S. Dallas Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15208 on Friday at 10 am. Those wishing to attend, please gather at the church. Masks, social distancing and occupancy limits will be required at the funeral home and church due to CDC rules currently in place. Much gratitude and love to the professional caregivers and to the many friends, family members, and neighbors who cared for her.
