Obituary of Elena Tucciarone
On Monday, June 7, 2021, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away in Winter Park, Fl. at the impressive age of 100!
Elena Tucciarone better known as "Nonna" was born on December 20,1920 in Pittsburgh, PA. At a young age, Elena and her four siblings relocated back to Italy with their mother, Elizabeth Parente, as their father had passed away. There they were raised and each embodied the heart and culture of their true Italian rearing. They were all extremely caring, loving, and generous with their love and resources.
Nonna's presence filled a room as she exuded warmth, laughter, kindness and generosity. Cooking for others was her fondest expression of love. Upon entering into her home, one was immediately greeted with offerings of food and drink (and you could not refuse).
She opened her home to all and touched the hearts of everyone whose paths she crossed.
Elena was preceded in death by her husband, Eugenio Tucciarone and all of her siblings and their spouses: Domenic Parente (Leonilda), Mary Pampena
(Oresto), Giulio Parente (Giuseppina) and most recently, Adelina Zottola
(Vincent). She is survived by her three children, Gene Tucciarone (Barbara), Joseph Tucciarone, and daughter, Maria Leerdam (Ed), six grandchildren: Danielle Swartz (James), Gregory Tucciarone ( Lisa), Katie Tucciarone-Sleiman (Richard), Elizabeth Tucciarone, and twins: Alena and Ariana Leerdam and four great-grandchildren: from Katie & Richard - Elena and “Julie”, from Gregory & Lisa - Gabriella and Elianna.
