Obituary of Patricia A. McKaveney

Age 91, formerly of Point Breeze, died peacefully at home on Monday, March 21, 2022. She was born on June 6, 1930 to the late Martin Barrett and Mary Nee Barrett. Pat was happily married to the late Jack McKaveney for 55 years. Beloved sister of Eileen McGrath (the late Jimmy), Martin Barrett (Pat), Bernadette Leppold (the late Coleman) and the late Jack Barrett and Tom Barrett. Pat was a treasured Aunt to 34 nieces and nephews as well as 67 great nieces and nephews. Pat was a graduate of St. Paul Cathedral High School and Duff’s Business Institute. Pat had a successful business career as an executive secretary to the Vice President and Corporate Comptroller at the Koppers Company of Pittsburgh. Pat was an accomplished musician mastering both the piano and violin as well as a talented Irish step dancer. Pat’s happiest moments were spent with her husband Jack and their beloved standard poodles, of which the last was Duncan. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Friday, 2-8 pm, where Funeral will commence on Saturday at 9 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Paul Cathedral at 10 am.
