Obituary of Raoul & Linda Rapneth

In Memory of Raoul C. Rapneth III and Linda L. Rapneth Their love story began in the early 1960's at Peabody High School. Rob (Raoul) injured his knee playing football and when the principal asked whom he would like to have assist him carrying books and navigating from class to class he wasted no time saying Linda Bassett, a pretty little redhead in his class. They started dating and were inseparable ever since. They married May 7, 1966 and had 2 children Lisa (Thomas Tabaka) and Raoul IV (Janet Yagatich), 3 beautiful grandchildren Robin (Tyler Reitz), Julie and Michael Rapneth and one great-grandson Jace Thomas Reitz. Rob was a Pittsburgh police officer/detective for 30+ years with MANY accolades to his name and Linda was a homemaker until their children were older then she worked for consumers produce. They were best friends and truly loved spending time together. Their family was so very important to them and they loved hosting parties and holiday gatherings at their home in Morningside or BBQ's with family and friends at their cottage in Tionesta. If you were lucky enough to know them, then you were special to them. Rob was an avid outdoorsman from a very young age. He loved hunting and fishing and introduced Linda to the wonders of the outdoors and to appreciate nature. She became his fishing buddy. They often went deep sea fishing while vacationing in the Florida Keys. The couple passed that same love of the outdoors to their family. Like mentioned earlier, they were inseparable until Rob's sudden death at the family cottage in Tionesta, September of 2017. Two months after Rob passed Linda's breast cancer returned, she had fought it years earlier with Rob and her family by her side but this time, without Rob and with a broken heart from losing the love of her life, it was too much for her. She fought long and hard, never complaining. She was so courageous and strong. We are so happy Linda was here with us to meet their great-grandson who was born in July. Linda Passed away with her family by her side September of 2021. The devoted couple, beloved parents and grandparents (pappy and gigi) ashes have been co-mingled, and with their family graveside, they will be buried May 7, 2022 on what will be their 56th wedding anniversary- THEY ARE AGAIN TOGETHER FOREVER.
