Obituary of Theresa A. Previtt
Theresa A. Previtt (nee Kreidwise), previously Theresa Sands, 77 of Shadyside, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 21, 2022. Theresa was born on November 28, 1944, in Pittsburgh. She was the daughter of the late Jesse and Alma Kreidwise, and sister of the late Shirley Kreidwise.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Previtt, she is survived by her children Morgan Sands and Ashley Setcavage (Stuart); and stepchildren Mark Previtt, Jodi Foster (Greg) and Lee Ann Kahanic (Bill). She is also survived by her grandchildren Tyler and Amanda Setcavage and her step-grandchildren Will and Alex Kahanic and Luke and Logan Foster.
Theresa graduated from Penn Hills High School and attended the Ivy School of Professional Art. After art school she was employed as a shop assistant at Hazel Hyde, a women’s specialty clothing store. Later, Theresa worked at Barton, Denmarsh and Esteban Graphic Design Studio, where she worked in advertising and design for eleven years. Afterward, she enjoyed a career as a self-employed interior decorator.
Theresa and her late husband Joseph were longstanding members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Shadyside.
The family would like to express special thanks to all the caregivers and nurses at Asbury Place in Mt. Lebanon for their warmth, care and dedication to Theresa.
Family and friends received at McCabe Brothers Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside, on Wednesday, 6-8 pm, where funeral will take place on Thursday at 9 am, followed by Mass of Christian Burial in St. Jude Parish, Sacred Heart Church, at 10 am. Entombment will follow at Allegheny Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Theresa’s family suggests donations be made in her name to the Light of Life Rescue Mission in Pittsburgh, the Animal Rescue League or the American Brain Foundation. Condolences may be left at www.mccabebrothers.com
