Obituary of John Lee O'Nan III

John Lee O’Nan III Of Point Breeze on Friday, December 16, 2022, age 65. Beloved son of John Lee O’Nan II and the late Mary Ann (Smith) O’Nan; brother of Stewart S. O’Nan (Trudy); stepbrother of Donald Matlack (Linda), Amy Hamarman (the late Jorge) and Kate Matlack; uncle of Caitlin O’Nan and Stephen O’Nan. A graduate of Linden School and Shadyside Academy, John spent his working life helping others at the Children’s Institute, Glade Run Lutheran Services, and the Carnegie Library of Squirrel Hill. Every summer since 1965 he attended Sheldon Calvary Camp, where he was a fixture. He was a kind and gentle soul and will be dearly missed by friends and family. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside on Thursday, December 22, 6-8 pm. Due to anticipated inclement weather, the memorial service scheduled for Friday has been canceled and will be rescheduled for some time after the New Year.
