As I read through the Post Gazette web site I noticed the obituary for your father, James O'Day and remembered the days at UPMC Passavant when my family and yours shared a waiting room for our mothers - both of whom died in 2010. We found great solace in being together with one another sharing a difficult time and we saw in your father and you a family filled with love and faith. I'm certain over these past years since then that your father continued to be that rock and guidance and love to all of you. May you hold realize the blessings of such parents and share their love and faith and concern with one another. Please accept our deepest sympathies and prayers.

What a wonderful man!! We served on the DU board together and at PNC...... hard to find anyone as honorable and kind as Jim....we will keep him in our prayers.

An incredible man and dedicated brother. I grew to know him quite well over the years. An avid sports enthusiast, dedicated to his family, friends, Kap brothers, and Duquesne University. Was in the first class inducted into the Duquesne Century Club of Distinguished Alumni. It was always a sincere pleasure to see him at our Kap luncheons. My wife Lydia and I loved to chat with he and his wife Mary at various University functions. We have missed him these past few years as his health began to fail him, limiting his ability to attend various activities. I will always think fondly of the many conversations we had over the decades.

I have just arrived in FLA for the winter so am deeply disappointed that I will be unable to attend his funeral to pay him the respect he so admirably deserves. My heart goes out to his family, Kap Brothers, and many friends.
