A Loving Tribute To Our Beautiful
Aunt Marlene Evelyn Gionta Ionadi
April 9, 1937 - January 17, 2018
Born the fifth child and beautiful daughter,
A loving sister so proud of her family,
A devoted wife and loving mother
Of her three pride and joys,
Their sweet first-born Phillip,
Cherub baby girl Renee,
And oh, what dimples on her Nino!
Though in recent years her memory had waned,
Always a smile and a compliment
To whoever came.
Her laugh and her smile I see so clearly today,
Never to be forgotten, as we all pray.
But let’s look upon an easier time in her life.
She loved to sew and create a wardrobe she was proud to show,
Look, I made this myself, you know.
It’s not hard, you just follow the pattern, you see,
Come on over, I’ll teach you,
Just you and me.
Oh, but a girl can never have too much jewelry,
She was living proof.
Look what Uncle Nino bought me,
All shiny, beautiful and bright,
Just because, no reason,
He says it fit me just right.
She loved the casino,
But only if she won.
I’ll watch you all play,
Your winnings - let me take a look,
The stakes are too high for my
pocketbook.
Life can be trying, but together
we can forget our troubles for a while.
Celebrations and all the fun holidays,
Laughing and singing all day,
Let’s just dance the night away!
Our cherished memories in a nutshell today,
A flea market stop, new watches to wear for fun and play.
A garden of her favorite foods to eat,
Crochet a blanket to warm your feet.
The best hot sausage and eggplant always ready to serve up,
Soup is ready, fill up your favorite cup.
As our sweet angel smiles down
From Heaven today,
The pain is gone
Her mind is free
She knows each and every
one of us now and can see.
Her words to us, I’ll be seeing you again someday,
But live your best life on Earth today,
I’m watching over all of you,
As you journey on your way.
Celebrate my best life.
I am thankful that I lived,
I am thankful that I loved.
But most of all I am thankful
Because I was loved.
We were blessed to have you in our lives.
In our hearts forever,
With all our Love
Your Goddaughter,
Mary Stella
