Obituary of John N. Kuprok Cooper

Age 81, of Pittsburgh, formerly of Duquesne, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, August 11, 2021. Beloved husband of 50 years to Patricia I. (Donoghue) Cooper; loving father of John Patrick Cooper (Heather-Dawn), Daniel Ryan Cooper (Vanessa), and Sarah Anne Cooper (Matthew Dierdorf); grandfather to Ryan, Emily, Jack, and Lane Cooper; brother of Helen Pavlak; also survived by nieces and nephews. A proud graduate of the University of Pittsburgh, John was a varsity letterman football player, who remained involved and enthusiastic about sports throughout his life. Always interested in aviation, John had a career in the airlines, traveled continuously, and loved meeting new people wherever he went. His fun-loving sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Known as “Pa” to his grandchildren, John’s pride and joy was his family. Friends received at McCabe Bros., Inc. Funeral Home, 6214 Walnut Street, Shadyside, on Wednesday, August 18, 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Heinz Chapel at the University of Pittsburgh on Thursday, August 19 at 12 pm.
